Final Fantasy VIII is the story of a young man named Squall Leonheart. He lives in Balamb Garden, a military acadamy which trains young people for the elite military force, SeeD. At the beginning of the game, he is about to take the test to see if he can join SeeD. Meanwhile, an unprovoked attack by the Galbadian troops leave many puzzled, and several resistance groups are formed. One, lead by the beautiful Rinoa Heartilly, has decided to hire a team of SeeD to assist them in there resistance. Squall's chance encounter with this young woman would turn his fairly stable world upside-down. It is discovered that behind Galbadia's unprovoked attack is one Sorceress Edea. The resistance groups turn their hostility towards her in an attemp on her life, but is she really the enemy?This is what Squall, Rinoa, and the rest of the SeeD in their squad attempt to discover.
